Should overweight people be charged more as well? They have higher rates of many health conditions, after all. If you’re going to go there, treat it all the same, just like car insurance. They charge you more for that for being male, being under 25, being single and having no kids. It’s not fair, it’s realistic. If you’re 5’5" and hit 200 lbs, have high cholesterol and are pre-diabetic, cha ching for your health insurance by auto insurance rules. And no, you don’t get to cherry pick what group to scape goat, like those who are unvaccinated. No exceptions. Personally, I’d be down with that. I work hard to stay fit, it’d motivate me even more to be financially incentivized for it. Maybe it would motivate an unhealthy person as well?
