Your story reminds me of when my 10 year old son got baptized. Each baptizee got to give their testimony. The first older lady was a church classic redemption story of unwanted pregnancy, drug abuse, broken marriage all turned around by Jesus. My son went next. In a beautifully understated way he said well, I haven’t been alive long enough to get into THAT much trouble, but Jesus means a lot to me too. Everyone laughed at the unspoken knowlege that my boy didn’t need much saving compared to her.
